Join Our Team as a Dental Assistant Instructor:
Charter College, an established and growing career college with locations in Washington, New Mexico, Alaska, Montana, and Southern California, is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Dental Assistant Instructor to join our team at our Oxnard, CA campus.

We are seeking instructors who are available to teach day or evening classes in our Dental Assistant program.

Blended Learning Environment:
Our blended course environment combines face-to-face instruction, including classroom discussions, group activities, lectures, and hands-on laboratory training, with web-based technologies such as discussion boards, online forums, and our learning management system.
This approach provides students with a flexible and engaging learning experience while maintaining the value of hands-on, face-to-face instruction.

Schedule:
Our 5-week courses average approximately 10 hours per week per class, including classroom instruction and online student support.
We are seeking instructors who can accommodate either a day or evening schedule, depending on program needs.

Day Classes:
  • Classes begin at approximately 9:00 a.m.
  • Classroom hours may vary depending on the day's curriculum and laboratory requirements.
  • Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday.

Evening Classes:
  • Evening classes may begin at approximately 6:00 p.m.
  • End times may vary depending on the day's lecture or laboratory schedule.
  • Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday.

Classes are typically held 2 times per week, depending on course and program needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for each course and develop a syllabus consistent with course descriptions and curriculum requirements.
  • Provide engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
  • Emphasize the importance of professionalism and appropriate workplace conduct.
  • Assess student understanding throughout the course and provide additional instruction when needed.
  • Maintain academic and instructional standards.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Be available to students who need additional assistance or have academic concerns.
  • Support student retention and engagement efforts.
  • Review and respond to student evaluations of instruction.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and official college functions as required.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and expertise through continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintain required academic and professional documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Current certification in Dental Assisting.
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in dental assisting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience teaching in a blended learning environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to provide hands-on instruction in a laboratory environment.

Compensation:
  • Part-Time.
  • Hourly, Non-Exempt.
  • $25.00-28.00 per hour.
